| Joe Lalor | Feb 12, 6:12PM | It is with great sadness we learn of the death of Jimmy O'Brien. Jimmy, a member of Ajax hillrunning and orienteering club was one of the very early members of IMRA. He had a long running career and when he started to take life at a slower pace he and his wife Pat were race result recorders for many years. We offer our deepest sympathies to Pat, his brother Paddy (still a stong orienteer and sometimes hillrunne),son Hugh and daughters Helen and Niamh. Removal on Tuesday from Fanagans Funeral Home, Tallaght to Newlands Cross Crematorium, for Humanist Ceremony at 11am, followed by cremation. Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired to Our Lady's Hospice, Harold's Cross. He will be greatly missed by many at the afters of the Wednesdays evening races and the annual dinner which he rarely missed. May he rest in peace |

| Paddy Lord | Feb 20, 10:49AM | The sad news of Jimmy's untimely death brings back many fond memories: of the first time we crossed studs on Lug in'86 or was it '87; of many enjoyable battles thereafter; of great post-race company; of a continuous, companionable presence in the sport we all enjoy. It is hard to believe that he is no more. May he rest in peace. With deepest sympathy to Pat and children and to Paddy. |

'Thank you for the days'. |
