| cormac O Ceallaigh | Feb 28, 9:44PM | A few of us did a recce of the wicklow 25km today.i parked in curtlestown, which is a busy enough and usually safe spot.when i came back to the car the back side window had been smashed in and my good jeans(!) and wallet which was in the pocket gone,with my bag of some gear.A most unfortunate end to a super run.I have been doing hill running for close on 10 years and have parked in all sorts of spots in the mountains without trouble.I noramlly dont bring money in my wallet or hide my wallet.Today i had an error of judgment, and false sense of security thinking Curtlestown was a 'safe carpark'.The gardai from Enniskerry were very helpfyul and thankfully the bag and wallet , with all my cards -less the money were handed into Bray garda station. I know we have alot of new runners this year and have people doing recce's of the wicklow 25 and soon for the WWR,so just a gentle reminder not to be complacent , do not bring any valuables in your car, park in a safe and busy spot.Be vigilant. |

| Eva Fairmaner | Mar 26, 9:05AM | As is the Phoenix Park near the Magazine Fort. Simon had wallet, phone, jeans, 2 pairs of runners (with orthotics in them) stolen 2 weeks ago. Someone was obviously watching him putting the phone and wallet in the boot of the car and was a skinny thief too! Unfortunately the wallet never turned up . |
