Mandatory Gear Rules for Championship Races

As of 6th July 2010, all runners competing in Irish and Provincial Championship races must bring the following equipment to the race and be prepared to carry it as per Rule 11 of IMRA Competition Rules. (The Race Director will decide on the day what actually needs to be carried but there will always be a minimum of a jacket that must be carried):

Wind proof jacket (compulsory);

Map of route;

Compass;

Whistle;

Hat;

Gloves;

Food;

Water.

Failure to carry the kit as specified by the Race Director on the race day will lead to immediate disqualification from the race. Mandatory kit items (with the exception of food and water) must be carried for the full duration of the race and kit may be inspected at the finish line.
